Complete Recovery After Floodwater Enters Your Property
Floodwater can move quickly through floors, walls, cabinets, insulation, and adjoining rooms. Even after standing water is removed, moisture can remain inside porous materials and enclosed structural areas.
We evaluate the water source and affected materials before beginning cleanup. Our team removes accessible water, takes moisture readings, removes materials that cannot remain, dries retained structural components, and prepares the property for approved repairs.

- Flood damage inspections
- Emergency water extraction

Is Floodwater Still Affecting Hidden Materials?
The visible waterline does not always show the full extent of flood damage. Water can move beneath flooring, behind drywall, through cabinet bases, and into insulation before spreading into nearby areas.
Signs professional flood restoration is needed
Standing water remains indoors
Water should be removed promptly so the property can be inspected, cleaned, and dried.
Floors are lifting or becoming soft
Buckled flooring, loose tiles, or soft areas can indicate water inside the underlayment or subfloor.
Walls or ceilings show new damage
Stains, bubbling paint, crumbling drywall, or peeling finishes can indicate trapped moisture behind the surface.
Cabinets and baseboards are swelling
Expanded wood, separating trim, and warped cabinet panels can develop after porous materials absorb floodwater.
Damp or musty odors remain
Persistent odors after visible water is removed can indicate wet materials, concealed moisture, or developing microbial growth.
How We Restore a Flood-Damaged Property
We organize the work around the floodwater source, affected materials, safety conditions, and amount of moisture inside the structure. You receive clear information about the recommended work before restoration moves forward.
We assess the flood conditions
We determine where the water entered, which areas are affected, whether water remains active, and what safety concerns require attention.
We document the damage
We inspect visible and surrounding areas, record affected materials, and use moisture-detection equipment to identify where water has traveled.
We extract the water
We remove accessible standing water and begin clearing damaged materials that cannot be safely cleaned or restored.
We clean and dry the structure
We clean affected areas and position air movers and dehumidifiers to dry retained walls, flooring systems, framing, and other structural materials.
We coordinate approved repairs
Once cleanup and drying are complete, we can repair or replace damaged drywall, insulation, flooring, cabinets, trim, paint, and other finishes.
One Team From Emergency Cleanup Through Reconstruction
Flood restoration often involves several connected stages. Water must be removed, affected materials evaluated, the structure dried, contaminated areas cleaned, and damaged finishes repaired.

We respond to urgent flood conditions and help determine what requires attention first.
Careful material evaluation
We evaluate the water source and affected materials before deciding what can be cleaned, dried, or removed.

Sam and Ali were absolutely fantastic to work with. From the very beginning, they were professional, thorough, and incredibly communicative. They came out multiple times to assess the situation and provided a detailed, transparent quote that clearly outlined the scope of work—no hidden fees, no surprises. What really stood out was their honesty and the time they took to explain everything. The level of detail they provided gave us full confidence in their knowledge and capabilities. They were easy to talk to, responsive, and clearly dedicated to helping their clients understand every step of the process. If you're looking for a company that is reliable, transparent, and truly knows their stuff choose A/S general contracting. I 10/10 recommend them.

A/S general contractor was recommended by a friend and so glad I went with them. They were able to come in and remodel our house after a flood and it far exceeded my expectations. They turned a stressful situation to easy and stress free for us. Special shoutout to Sam, for keeping things honest and straight forward. I knew what I was getting from the get go and if I had any issues he was able to correct them within the hour. Sam is detailed oriented and you can he shows that he cares about the customers by his actions.

Two years after the “shoddy” work they performed we are having to completely replace the flooring. They shot pin nails into laminate flooring but that isn’t the worst part. The patchwork they used to lay a sub floor was crap. They know what they did. They all like to agree and blame the homeowner for whatever goes wrong. One tone even suggesting they because we live in a “trailer house,” the floor would never be perfect. Well now we see clearly what kind of a pieced together project they did, we now have someone who is fixing this fiasco! Don’t use them

We had a major water leak that required us to file a claim through our insurance company, and our plumber referred us to A/S General. From the very beginning, Greg and Sam were incredibly helpful, guiding us through the entire process and helping expedite everything with our insurance company. Greg, Sam, and their entire team were professional, thorough, and communicative every step of the way. The construction crew consistently showed up on time, worked efficiently, and always left the work area clean at the end of each day. Thanks to their attention to detail and quality craftsmanship, our home is now in even better condition than before the water leak. We highly recommend A/S General to anyone in need of home restoration or construction services. Thank you to the entire team for taking such great care of our home!

Requested to do the job asap. Told Sam Abraham we have house guests coming in at the middle of the week. He sent a crew to see what needs to be done. By Monday, they started fixing the damage and late afternoon, the same day, the job was done. Sam Abraham didn't promise but he produced the result. Ben L

The team has been on time, quick, understanding & professional. I can say a lot of people are not like that now and days. Sam and Travis were amazing at what they do. Need more good people like them. From somebody from the military nothing makes me happier than someone that is on time and staying true to their word. Continue the good work you do gentlemen.

Where San Diego Properties Face Flood Damage Risks
Flood damage in San Diego can result from intense seasonal rain, storm runoff, overflowing drainage systems, coastal conditions, or water entering through damaged roofs, windows, doors, and exterior walls.
Low-lying communities and properties near rivers, channels, canyons, slopes, or coastal areas can face runoff and drainage concerns during major storms. Hillside properties can also receive water moving downhill toward foundations, lower levels, garages, and retaining walls.
Urban properties with paved surroundings may experience water collecting near entrances or ground-level rooms when drainage cannot carry it away quickly. Once water enters, it can spread into drywall, flooring, insulation, cabinets, and connected structural materials.
Areas commonly affected by flooding
- Ground-level rooms
- Garages and storage areas
- Drywall and wall cavities
- Flooring and subflooring
- Cabinets and built-in finishes
- Exterior walls and window areas
- Ceilings affected by stormwater
- Insulation and framing

Flood Damage Restoration FAQS for San Diego Properties
What should I do immediately after my property floods?
Stay away from electrical hazards, unstable ceilings, and water that may contain contaminants. If it is safe, stop additional water from entering the building and contact our team for an inspection.
Is all floodwater considered contaminated?
Not every water event has the same contamination level. Water entering from outside can carry soil, bacteria, chemicals, and debris. We evaluate the source and conditions before recommending cleanup or material removal.
Can flooded drywall and flooring be saved?
That depends on the water source, exposure time, contamination, material type, and amount of moisture absorbed. Some materials can be dried and cleaned, while others require controlled removal.
How long does flood damage restoration take?
The timeline depends on the amount of water, size of the affected area, materials involved, contamination conditions, drying requirements, and repairs. We provide a clearer schedule after inspecting the property.
Can you complete repairs after flood cleanup?
Yes. After water removal, cleaning, and structural drying, we can coordinate approved repairs involving drywall, insulation, flooring, cabinets, trim, paint, and other damaged finishes.
