More Than a Temporary Patch Over Water Damage
Repairing the visible stain does not address moisture trapped behind the surface. Water can travel away from the original leak and collect beneath flooring, above ceilings, inside cabinets, and within wall cavities.
We inspect the affected and surrounding materials before developing the repair plan. This helps us determine what can be dried and restored, what requires removal, and which building components need approved repairs.
Water leak repair services we provide
- Water leak damage inspections
- Moisture detection and mapping
- Standing-water removal
- Structural drying and dehumidification
- Wet drywall and insulation removal

Signs a Water Leak Is Affecting Your Property
Some leaks produce immediate dripping or standing water. Others remain hidden until moisture damages finished surfaces. We inspect beyond the first visible sign to determine how far the water has traveled.
Signs Professional Water Damage Restoration May Be Needed
A stain continues growing
A ceiling or wall stain that becomes larger or darker may indicate that moisture is still entering or spreading through the material.
Paint is bubbling or peeling
Moisture behind painted drywall can cause the finish to blister, crack, separate, or peel away from the surface.
Flooring is raised or uneven
Warped boards, lifting planks, loose tiles, or soft areas can indicate moisture beneath the finished flooring.
Drywall feels soft
Soft, swollen, or crumbling drywall may have absorbed water from a nearby or concealed leak.
Cabinets or baseboards are swelling
Wood products and composite materials can expand, separate, or lose their finish after absorbing moisture.
What Happens When You Call About a Water Leak?
Our process focuses on understanding where the water entered, identifying affected materials, controlling remaining moisture, and restoring the damaged areas.
We Learn What Happened
We ask when the problem started, where you first saw the water, whether the leak is active, and which surfaces or rooms appear affected.
We inspect the leak-related damage
We examine the visible problem and surrounding ceilings, walls, flooring, cabinets, baseboards, and other areas where moisture may have traveled.
We Build the Restoration Plan
We explain what needs water removal, drying, controlled material removal, or property repair. If separate work is needed to stop the source, we identify that before restoration moves forward.
We Complete the Approved Work
We remove remaining water, dry affected materials, take out components that cannot remain, and repair approved areas of the property.
We Review the Restored Areas
We check the completed work, explain what was repaired, and provide practical recommendations for monitoring the affected area.
Coordinated Help for Drying, Damage Repair, and Recovery

Sam and Ali were absolutely fantastic to work with. From the very beginning, they were professional, thorough, and incredibly communicative. They came out multiple times to assess the situation and provided a detailed, transparent quote that clearly outlined the scope of work—no hidden fees, no surprises. What really stood out was their honesty and the time they took to explain everything. The level of detail they provided gave us full confidence in their knowledge and capabilities. They were easy to talk to, responsive, and clearly dedicated to helping their clients understand every step of the process. If you're looking for a company that is reliable, transparent, and truly knows their stuff choose A/S general contracting. I 10/10 recommend them.

A/S general contractor was recommended by a friend and so glad I went with them. They were able to come in and remodel our house after a flood and it far exceeded my expectations. They turned a stressful situation to easy and stress free for us. Special shoutout to Sam, for keeping things honest and straight forward. I knew what I was getting from the get go and if I had any issues he was able to correct them within the hour. Two years after the “shoddy” work they performed we are having to completely replace the flooring. They shot pin nails into laminate flooring but that isn’t the worst part. The patchwork they used to lay a sub floor was crap. They know what they did. They all like to agree and blame the homeowner for whatever goes wrong. One tone even suggesting they because we live in a “trailer house,” the floor would never be perfect. Well now we see clearly what kind of a pieced together project they did, we now have someone who is fixing this fiasco! Don’t use them

We had a major water leak that required us to file a claim through our insurance company, and our plumber referred us to A/S General. From the very beginning, Greg and Sam were incredibly helpful, guiding us through the entire process and helping expedite everything with our insurance company. Greg, Sam, and their entire team were professional, thorough, and communicative every step of the way. The construction crew consistently showed up on time, worked efficiently, and always left the work area clean at the end of each day. Thanks to their attention to detail and quality craftsmanship, our home is now in even better condition than before the water leak. We highly recommend A/S General to anyone in need of home restoration or construction services. Thank you to the entire team for taking such great care of our home!

Requested to do the job asap. Told Sam Abraham we have house guests coming in at the middle of the week. He sent a crew to see what needs to be done. By Monday, they started fixing the damage and late afternoon, the same day, the job was done. Sam Abraham didn't promise but he produced the result. Ben L

The team has been on time, quick, understanding & professional. I can say a lot of people are not like that now and days. Sam and Travis were amazing at what they do. Need more good people like them. From somebody from the military nothing makes me happier than someone that is on time and staying true to their word. Continue the good work you do gentlemen.

Where Water Leaks Can Spread Inside San Diego Properties
San Diego includes older houses, coastal residences, high-rise condominiums, apartment buildings, hillside homes, and mixed-use properties. Each building type can present different challenges when water enters finished materials.
In condominiums and apartments, water can travel between units through shared ceilings, walls, and flooring systems. In older properties, a small leak can affect several layers of drywall, plaster, flooring, or built-in finishes. Coastal wind-driven rain may also enter through damaged roofing, windows, exterior walls, and unfinished openings.
We inspect the area surrounding the original leak so the repair plan accounts for water that moved beyond the first visible stain or damaged surface.
Areas commonly affected by water leaks
- Ceilings and ceiling cavities
- Drywall and insulation
- Flooring and subflooring
- Cabinets and vanities
- Baseboards and interior trim
- Shared walls between units
- Attics and roof-adjacent materials
- Laundry and appliance areas

Water Leak Repair FAQs for San Diego Properties
What should I do when I discover a water leak?
If it is safe, stop or control the water source and move belongings away from the affected area. Avoid touching electrical equipment near water. Contact us so we can inspect the leak-related damage and determine whether extraction, drying, or repairs are needed.
Can a small leak cause hidden property damage?
Yes. A slow leak can saturate drywall, insulation, flooring, framing, cabinets, and other porous materials before visible damage appears. Even a small stain can represent a larger concealed moisture problem.
Why does a ceiling leak need more than new paint?
Paint can cover the stain without addressing the wet drywall, insulation, or framing above it. The affected area should be inspected and dried before cosmetic repairs are completed.
How do you determine which materials require replacement?
We consider the amount of moisture, the material involved, its physical condition, and whether it can be dried safely. Materials that are swollen, weakened, deteriorated, or unable to dry properly may require removal.
Can you repair walls, ceilings, and flooring after the leak?
Yes. After the water source has been addressed and affected materials are dry, we can complete approved drywall, ceiling, flooring, baseboard, cabinet, painting, and finish repairs.
